2011/12 Indoor Fuzzyball

As was announced earlier this season the Emerson Soccer Board has made the difficult decision to leave the Pascack Valley Indoor Soccer League in favor of running and "in-town" program beginning this December.  The Soccer Board was driven to increase participation to a wider group of Emerson children and has accomplished this goal through our recent registration process.  The process of change is often full of apprehension and we thank those families that have chosen to participate and support this new program and we look forward to working together to ensure the very best experience for your children.

As President of Emerson Soccer I can assure all that the Board carefully considered every option and spent exhaustive debate over best options for each and every age group.  In the end we as a Board recognize that our decisions may disappoint some, but we remain confident that the decision reached was for the best for the vast majority of the program.

We are pleased to announce the following plans:

Grades 1/2 – registration is full for the coed league.  Four teams have been chosen and coaches are being selected prior to notifying players.  Games will begin on Sundays in December.

Grades 3/4  - registration is nearly full for the coed league.  Teams have been chosen and coaches are being selected prior to notifying players.  Games will begin on Sundays in December. Interested players should contact Jill Dunican by email by clicking here.  Please note that your child must have participated in the Recreation Soccer program this most recent season to be eligible.

Grades 5/6 – Pickup games will be scheduled each Sunday (times will be posted here on this website).  Interested players should contact Jill Dunican by email by clicking here.   Please note that your child must have participated in the Recreation Soccer program this most recent season to be eligible.

Grades 7/8 The Board revoted and decided to make this group coed as well.  We need a minimum of 12 players to form two teams that will play in a pick up style Sunday nights each week.  Right now we have 5.  Please fill out the registration form under FUZZY on the menu to the left to participate.

We look forward to an exciting indoor season with you beginning soon!

Regards,

Bob Quinones

President

Weather Policy

Soccer is an "all weather" sport.  Every fall season there are days where it rains and calls into question if practices and games will go on.  Emerson Soccer uses this website to convey information to parents and coaches on the status of practices and games when weather is an

issue.  Please note, that while Emerson Soccer may determine that a field is safe for play, a coach has the right to cancel practice if they feel that weather conditions prohibit the enjoyment of the children.

When reviewing weather conditions and determining whether games and practices will take place we consider the following:

 safety of the field

temperature

enjoyment of parents, coaches, etc
