2011 Fuzzy Ball Registration

Emerson Eagles REC Indoor Fuzzy Ball

We are trying something new this year to involve more players for winter soccer. Fuzzy Ball is played in a gym with a big yellow tennis ball. The rules are simple…everything is fair except the lights. It is a fun experience and helps develop fast passing and foot skills as well as fun spin on soccer.

Here are the particulars. YOU MUST PARTICIPATE IN REC TO BE ELIGILBLE FOR FUZZY. Due to limited gym space we are only able to field 4 teams in each division. They will be coed teams thru 5/6th grade. 7^th and 8^th WILL NOW BE coed. The groups will consist of 20 girls and 20 boys broken up into 4 teams that will play each other each week. We cannot take more than 20 per sex so it will be based on first come first serve basis. There will not be a try out. The Teams will be put together by the Emerson Eagles Soccer Board.

The groups are

1^st and 2^nd grade (4 teams)

3^rd and 4^th grade (4 teams)

5^th and 6^th grade (4 team)

7^th and 8^th will now be coed pick up style.

Uniforms will be a t-shirt as part of registration. Your child can wear any short or sock color they have. They will need sneakers or indoor shoes and shin guards. Cost will be $65.00 per player. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO FRIENDS OF EMERSON SOCCER. There will be two 20 minute halves and a 3 min halftime. Games will start and stop on time, so if you are late you can potentially miss half a game. We will have 2 Emerson Referees per game and we will be keeping a win/loss records for medals at the end of the season.

Play time is on Sundays only from 2:30 thru 9:30 starting Dec 4^th thru March 18. We will also be participating in weeknight scrimmages with other towns like Montvale/Mahwah.

If you know your child cannot make this commitment due to other sport obligations, please do not take a spot from someone who can fully commit.

This is a new venture and as with any new venture we will have a learning curve. We hope to accomplish a fun experience for more Emerson REC players than we have been able to thru the PVISL league. You will be notified by email of your child’s acceptance or if he/she was placed on a waiting list. Once notified, your check must be received by Jill Dunican 19 Kensington Ave by Oct 28. If it is not received by 7:00 pm on the 28^th (no exceptions); other children will be invited on the list by order in which their registration was received.

To be clear your check needs to be in possession by 7:00 pm Oct 28 for your child to be considered.

Recognizing the possibility of physical injury associated with soccer and in consideration for Emerson Soccer and its affiliates accepting the registrant for its soccer programs and activities ("the Programs"), I hereby release, discharge and/or otherwise indemnify Emerson Soccer, the Emerson Recreation Commission and the Borugh of Emerson, its affiliated organizations and sponsors, their employees and associated personnel including the owners of fields and facilities utilized for the Programs and Emerson Recreational Soccer, against any claim by or on behalf of the registrant's participation in the Programs and/or being transported to or from the same, which transportation I hereby authorize. My child has received a physical examination by a physician and has been found physically capable of participating in the Programs. Therefore, I grant the coaches, team parents, league officials and/or the above identified Emergency Contact person permission as my surrogate for my child in the area of obtaining medical treatment by a doctor of medicine or dentistry. I also assume the financial responsibility for any medical treatment for my child. For myself and on behalf of the above player, I further acknowledge that Emerson Recreation Soccer is primarily administered by volunteers rather than paid professionals and I willingly and voluntarily agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If he/she or I observe any unusually significant concern in his/her readiness for participation in the program itself, I will remove him/her from participation and bring such concern to the attention of the nearest official immediately and also of the league official as soon as possible thereafter. I further agree to comply with the rules of participation as established by Emerson Recreational Soccer Board and will not interfere with coaches or officials in and during the game. All accepted registrations are final and no refunds will be given for subsequent withdrawal from the program.
